Settle United Football Club Appoint New Management Team

Craven & District Football League side Settle United Football Club have appointed a new management team to oversee all first team duties ahead of the new season.Tom Strickland and Daniel Bathers have been appointed joint managers of the club, whilst James Hamer is the clubs new assistant manager and Sam Arrowsmith is head coach.

Strickland and Bathers are experienced players in the Craven & District Football League having both played and captained Settle United Football Club over a number of seasons. In the 2017-2018 campaign, Bathers captained the side to a historic league and cup double which included United’s first Craven Cup triumph for twenty-eight years.

The following season, Tom Strickland took over the roll captaining the club to an iconic treble, defending both the league and Craven Cup titles as the club also achieved victory in Premier Division Cup. Whilst also being part of Settle Cricket Clubs Championship team that won the Ribblesdale Cricket League, which proved to be a successful year of sport for both Tom Strickland and the town.

James Hamer joins as assistant manager and is a hugely popular character at the club, a former goalkeeper who is extremely passionate about the club and has also played an integral role in the club’s success in recent seasons. Arrowsmith, another former captain and current number 1 goalkeeper takes over the roll as head coach. An experienced and dedicated coach who brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm into the role.

Speaking about the appointment of the new management team, newly appointed club chairman Craig Dinsdale said, “I’m 100% certain we have the right people in the right place at the right time. I’m excited to see what the future holds for the club but by appointing dedicated, committed people the club will be winners on and off the field.
