Salford City Football Club have this afternoon confirmed they have sacked manager and former Clarets defender Graham Alexander, who has left the club with immediate effect.

The clubs board met with Graham Alexandra this morning and after discussions we have agreed to part company.  Salford City who are currently fifth in Sky Bet League Two and are unbeaten in the current football league season have also dismissed first team coach Chris Lucketti.

Alexandra, who guided Salford City to Wembley Stadium in his first season, resulting in the clubs promotion to Sky Bet League Two from the Vanarama National League 2 also reached the National Stadium (Wembley) in his second season as the club reached the Leasing.com Trophy Final.
