Margaret Scott – (1936 – 2020)
At every football club up and down the country there are true club legends, not players or managers that come and go every season, but people that spend a lifetime at the club working hard behind the scenes every week to ensure a match can take place or that it is the best experience for either the supporters, sponsors, mascots or the press/media.
Having spent time working at Bradford City as both a paid employee in the commercial team and also experiening the matches at Valley Parade as a photographer working in the media sector, I am very sad to learn this morning of the passing of Margaret Scott, a lovely welcoming lady and a true Bradford City Legend.
A long-term acquaintance of everyone at Valley Parade, Margaret assisted the Bantams in a number of different roles over the course of several decades of loyal service to the club. She was most recently recognised for her efforts within the Utilita Energy Stadium’s media suite, were she welcomed the press & media teams from all over the country to the club.
Bradford City Football Club have today announce that the facility used on home match days by members of the press, will be re-named the Margaret Scott Media Suite in her memory. Margaret leaves behind loving husband Malcolm Scott, who continues to serve the club as an honorary associate director. Having known both Margaret & Malcolm Scott from my time at Bradford City my thoughts and prayers are with Malcolm at this very sad and difficult time.
Rest In Peace, Margaret Scott
