Clarets Takeover Set to Be Completed In Forty-Eight Hours
The takeover of Burnley Football Club by American firm ALK Capital is agreed in principle and will be completed in the next forty-eight hours; earlier this month a consortium led by Egyptian businessman Mohamed El Kashashy and solicitor Chris Farnell pulled out of talks to buy the Clarets leaving ALK Capital as the front rummers.
It had been hoped that more than 6 months of negotiations would have concluded in time to announce the deal before this evenings home match against Sheffield United. However several small last minute hitches have delayed the announcement, which is now expected to before the new year.
It was hoped that ALK Capital’s Managing Director Alan Pace would attend Turf Moor this evening to watch Burnley’s crucial match against Sheffield United, the club he came close to buying less than two years ago. The imminent takeover is positive news for the Clarets manager Sean Dyche, who has been without significant investment for several windows.
