Jonjoe Kenny Looking For Transfer Deadline Switch to Turf Moor
Burnley Football Club are interested in signing Everton right-back Jonjoe Kenny before the January transfer window closes on Monday at 11.00pm and they believe a deal can be completed before the cut off. However, it’s understood that the Goodison Park club are yet to receive a firm offer from the Clarets for the former England Youth International.
Kenny was part of the Blues’ squad which faced Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday and he came off the bench for the final fourteen minutes. Kenny, is likely to be named in Carlo Ancelotti’s matchday squad for tonight’s game with Leicester City at Goodison Park but beyond that his future looks uncertain. Burnley have until 11pm on Monday to strike a deal with Everton over the former England youth international and there remains confidence that an agreement can be reached in time.
Everton have been in the market for a new right-back for some time and will try and find the long-term successor for Seamus Coleman in the summer. Kenny, who spent last season impressing at Schalke on loan, was hoping to return to his boyhood club this season and be pushing for more regular game time but has fallen further down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti.
