Burnley Targeting Dael Fry In Summer Transfer Window
The Clarets are once again targeting Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry after failing to sign him two seasons ago, Sean Dyche is expected to make an offer around £10 million for the Sky Bet Championship defender. The 6foot 4inch centre back is a long term target of the Clarets. Fry, remains a key figure for Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock who does not wish to lose him, but the young defender is keen to test himself in the Premier League.
Burnley expect further interest in James Tarkowski and are also ready to sell Ben Gibson who has been on loan at Norwich City. They see Fry as a proven defender with potential to improve who can take the team forward under the new regime of chairman Alan Pace.
Middlesbrough are said to be holding out for around £25 million for the centre-back, a figure the Clarets refused to match two years ago. However, the defender may be looking to force a move to the Premier League should Neil Warnock’s side remain in the Sky Bet Championship at the end of the season, Middlesbrough are currently six points off the play-offs with eight games of the season left.
