Clarets Chasing Sheffield United Defender

Clarets Targeting Kean Bryan Sheffield United Defender On Free Transfer

Sheffield United may have a fight on their hands if they want to hang on to Kean Bryan, the defender is out of contract at the end of the season and he has already been linked with three clubs including Burnley, Fulham and Swansea City. The young defender faces an uncertain future at Bramall Lane following the departure of manager Chris Wilder.

The previous Blades boss had hinted that the former Manchester City graduate, who played a pivotal role in the 2-1 victory at Old Trafford this season, scoring in the first half, had done enough to be offered a contract extension. However, it is now up in the air after Wilder’s five year reign came to an end last month.

Paul Heckingbottom is currently in charge until the end of the season, admitted he was not expecting to be involved in any decision regarding the players whose contracts expite in June 2021, having only worked with the senior squad for a matter of weeks. It is not yet known if the club have offered Bryan fresh terms to stay at Bramall Lane.

However, reports are emerging that Burnley, Fulham and Swansea are all showing interest and are keen to exploit the uncertainty around his contract situation and snap him up on a free Transfer. He is a player that fits the Clarets recruitment strategy at the moment, being a young player with Premier League experience and on a free transfer.
