Crystal Palace Shortlist Includes Current & Former Clarets Boss
Burnley Football Club’s former manager Eddie Howe and current Clarets boss Sean Dyche are two of the three candidates shortlisted to become the new manager of Crystal Palace this summer as the Premier League outfit look to replace Roy Hodgson, whose contract expires at the end of the season according to reports in the Football Insider.
A source at Crystal Palace has told the Football Insider the club’s top three targets are Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard and the Burnley manager Sean Dyche. They have sounded out all three about their interest in the post, where Roy Hodgson has been in charge for the past four years. The source explained that Howe and Dyche are the two who figure most prominently in the thoughts of Palace chiefs, with Lampard currently third choice.
This site revealed last week that Crystal Palace have already made contact with Burnley Football Club about their manager Sean Dyche back in January. Whilst former Clarets boss Eddie Howe has also held talks with the club about taking over in the summer. The Scotish Gaints Glasgow Celtic still hold out hopes of appointing Eddie Howe, but their chances of doing so have diminished over the last week.
The former Bournemouth boss reached a verbal agreement with Celtic following talks in London before having second thoughts about the move north, remember his reason for leaving Turf Moor eight years ago was to be closer to his family on the south coast. The Scottish giants are assessing alternative options to Howe amid fears he is using their interest as leverage with Premier League sides.
