Burnley Interested In Signing Czech Republic Goalkeeper

Clarets Preparing £2.7M Bid For Werder Bremen Goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka

According to reports in the international press the Clarets are preparing a bid to sign the current Werder Bremen and Czech Republic International goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka after speculation that Nick Pope will join Tottenham Hotspurs this summer to improve his chances of becoming England’s Number One.

The Clarets are moving for Stoke City defender Nathan Collins at the moment, seemingly protecting themselves just in case James Tarkowski leaves. It’s suggested that the Clarets are also looking towards another stopper, with Pavlenka wanted in a cut-price move following Werder’s relegation. The report claims that a €3million (£2.6million) offer will be made by Burnley within days, with contact already made.

Burnley’s move for Pavelnka ‘should become very concrete’ by the end of this week and he could join up with Czech Republic International teammate Matej Vydra at Turf Moor. As Werder Bremen suffered relegation last season and with Pavlenka having just one year left on his contract it looks primed to leave this summer.
