Wayne Hennessey (Free Agent) In Negotiations to Join Clarets
Burnley Football Club are emerging as a contender to sign former Crystal Palace and Wales International goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey a contract at Turf Moor. The 34 year old shot stopper is now out of contract and has already been linked with a free transfer move to Chelsea and Aston Villa this summer.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, the Clarets are very keen to secure the veteran ahead of the new season. As they look to bring in an experienced goalkeeper to challenge England International Nick Pope or to replace him should he make the decision to move on to advance his England career.
Hennessey may feel he will get more chances in the first team at Burnley, as he would likely be third choice at Chelsea and second or third choice at Aston Villa. However, the Clarets are in negotiations with Hennessey and his agent about a move to Turf Moor.
Sean Dyche will be keen to complete the negotiations and the signing of the player after missing out on Ashley Young who was favourite to join the Clarets this summer before accepting a late move to Villa park to join Aston Villa.
