Stanley Completes Move From Castleford Tigers to York City Knights
York City Knights have signed England full-back Tara Stanley from Women’s Super League rivals Castleford Tigers for the forthcoming 2022 season. Stanley, who was a nominee for the 2018 Woman of Steel whilst with the Tigers, has also represent her country winning thirteen caps for England.
Tara Jane Stanley becomes the first close-season signing made by York City Knights, who reached the play-offs after finishing fourth last term. This after appointing a new back room team and signing around eight players just a few days before the start of the season.
Speaking about the signing Knights Director of rugby Lindsay Anfield said, “She will be a fantastic asset at the back, to add that confidence and that experience of bossing the defensive line is going to be huge for us this coming season. Hopefully, Tara will add to our ability to compete with the best teams in the league next season.”
