Burnley Chasing Sunderland Midfielder

Clarets Ready To Offer £3M for Sunderland Midfielder Dan Neil

According to reports in a national newspaper Burnley Football Club are interested in signing Dan Neil from Sunderland in the January transfer window after watching him in action against Arsenal. The British tabloid has claimed that Burnley are ready to bid £3M for the Sunderland midfielder.

The Premier League club’s chief scout Martin Hodge watched the 20-year-old midfielder in action for Sunderland against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and the Clarets are reportedly open to signing Neil in January and then letting him stay on loan at the Stadium of Light for the rest of the season.

Sean Dyche has already said there is money to spend in the transfer window and Dan Neil is seen as an excellent signing for the future. Its believed the Sky Bet League One side would be willing to let the midfielder leaving the Stadium of Light for £3M.

However, the Black Cats are only four points off the Sky Bet League One top spot and  are well placed in the play-offs, so they will clearly not want to sell Neil in the middle of the season. The Clarets are said to be open to letting Neil carry on playing for Sunderland until the end of the season on loan, before the midfielder joins up with the Clarets next season.

The Sunderland number twenty-four has made twenty starts and one substitute appearance in Sky Bet League One so far this season, scoring two goals and providing seven assists in the process.
