Taylor Harwood-Bellis Looking to Join Kompany At Turf Moor
Burnley Football Club are in advanced talks to sign defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Manchester City according to reports by Football Insider. New boss Vincent Kompany has made the England Under-21 International a priority signing after managing him when in charge of Anderlecht last season.
A number of clubs have enquired about the 20-year-old, but he is happy and keen to link up with Kompany once again and its believed the Clarets are close to winning the race. The Clarets are in need of centre-backs ahead of the new season after seeing James Tarkowski and Ben Mee leave Turf Moor earlier this summer. Everton are set to announce the signing of Tarkowski, who will be available as a free agent when his contract expires on 30 June.
Harwood-Bellis has made seven appearances for Manchester City since his debut for the Premier League side in September 2019. The centre-half spent the first half of last season on loan at Anderlecht were he made 19 appearances for the Belgian giants and grabbed two assists. A product of City’s academy, Harwood-Bellis returned to Manchester in January before embarking on a domestic loan. The England Under-21 International joined Stoke City for the second half of the 2021-22 campaign. He made 23 appearances for Michael O’Neill’s side before returning to the Etihad were his contract expires in 2024.
