Clarets Striker Joins Turkish Club On Loan

Wout Weghorst Joins Besiktas On Season Long Loan

Burnley Football Club have this afternoon confirmed that Wout Weghorst has completed a season-long loan to Beşiktaş Football Club. The 29-year-old has joined the Turkish Süper Lig side for the 2022/23 season after joining Burnley earlier this year from VfL Wolfsburg on a permanent contract.

The Dutch International striker who has scored two goals in twenty league appearances for the Clarets, will join the Turkish club for this coming season and Besiktas will pick up the cost of his wages for the next twelve months, no loan fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

The hope is that the striker will rejoin the Clarets next season if they go straight back into the Premier League, as a supporter of the club I hope Wout Weghorst never returns to Turf Moor as none of the players in the squad show be able to demand a move away because they don’t want to play in the Sky Bet Championship.
