North Macedonian striker Darko Churlinov to Join Clarets

Darko Churlinov – Set to Have Medical at Turf Moor Tomorrow

According to reports in Germany, Florian Plettenberg (Sky Sports, Germany) and Patrick Berger (Sport1) have claimed that the VfB Stuttgart striker Darko Churlinov is set to join Sky Bet Championship side BurnleyFootball Club.

The race between Burnley and RSC Anderlecht for the North Macedonian striker Darko Churlinov has apparently been won by the Clarets. Florian Pletenberg and Patrick Berger say that Stuttgart have accepted a transfer offer that tops €5 million with bonuses for the recently relegated English club. Churlinov is thought to be due at Turf Moor tomorrow for a medical. Churlinov himself has agreed to terms with the Clarets and is looking to work with new head-coach Vincent Kompany.

After a successful season last year on loan at FC Schalke in the German Second Division, Churlinov’s stock has risen quite a bit. VFB Stuttgart had to hold very firm with Schalke over the course of the entire offseason as the Königsblauen very much wanted to bring the attacker in on a permanent basis. Churlinov has played up top in both VfB Stuttgart competitive fixtures thus far this season, bagging an assist during his start in the Pokal round. He tallied twice and registered six assists during Schalke’s promotion campaign.
