The 22-year-old winger rose through the academy ranks as a youngster at FC Koln II, before breaking into the FC Koln first team in the 2019/20 campaign. The Skopje-born attacker then made the move to Stuttgart later that season, achieving promotion to the Bundesliga. Churlinov has seventeen senior international caps for Macedonia, after becoming the youngster ever player to represent the Macedonian national team at sixteen years-old in March 2017.

After becoming a Claret, Churlinov said: “I’m feeling very excited to be here, I’m really looking forward to this season ahead. There’s no time to lose and I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and the upcoming weeks.”

Manager Vincent Kompany said, “Darko is an attacking minded player with an outstanding work-rate and mentality within the game. We have a good relationship with Vfb Stuttgart and thank them for enabling us to bring a promising young player to our group. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the team and we are happy he is a part of the future at this Club.”
