Italian Goalkeeper Becomes Signing Number Thirteen In Summer Window
Burnley Football Club have today confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Denis Franchi, from French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain on a three-year deal with the option of a fourth. The young Italian has spent the last three seasons in the French capital after joining PSG in the summer of 2019 from Udinese.

Franchi signed his first professional contract in November 2020 and despite not featuring for the first team, the teenager has a Coupe De France among his honours during his time in Paris. The 6ft 3in Pordenone-born shot-stopper has also represented his native country Italy from U17 to U20 level.
Having signed for the Claret Denis Franchi said, “I’m so happy to be here it’s a new chapter for me, which I can’t wait to start. I’m looking forward to meeting the fans, my new teammates, the staff and the new journey ahead of me at Burnley.”

Clarets manager Vincent Kompany said, ‘We’re very pleased to welcome Denis to the squad, he’s an exciting young goalkeeper with a strong calibre of experience at a young age. Denis is an Italian youth international and will be a part of the long-term project at the club.”
