Lewis Richardson Joins Grimsby Town On Loan
Grimsby Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Burnley striker Lewis Richardson on loan until January 2023. The young striker signed a three-year deal at the Clarets in the summer of 2021, after making a name for himself in the Burnley Academy. Lewis Richardson scored five goals on his Under 18’s debut at the age of 15 against Crewe Alexandra, earning a call up to the England Under 16 squad shortly after, scoring his debut for the National team.

After another impressive debut for the Under 23’s where he scored a hattrick against Rochdale, the young striker made his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur, setting a record as the Club’s youngest Premier League debutant.
Grimsby Town Manager Paul Hurst said, “Lewis is someone that I have been aware of for quite some time from Burnley. He is a young striker who is very highly thought of and has been involved with the England setups.
He has lots of ability, I can remember watching him at Elland Road, coming on as a 16-year-old sub in an Under 23’s fixture and there was a real buzz about him when he came on. I was watching him, I think he is someone who can bring us something different in our attacking parts of the pitch and hopefully, he can create and create some goals for us in his time with us”.
