Clarets Reignite Interest In Coventry City Striker

Clarets Set To Offer £5 Million For Callum O’Hare

Burnley Football Club have reignited their interest in signing Coventry City striker Callum O’Hare, according to sources at the Football Insider. The Sky Bet Championship club who chased the attacker all summer and had multiple bids rejected by the Midlands rivals.

The Clarets ended their pursuit when O’Hare suffered a serious hamstring injury that was to rule him out of the opening months of the season. But he is now back playing and fully fit and the Clarets have registered their interest in a potential January deal.

Coventry City had valued their prize asset at £5M earlier this year but Vincent Kompany’s promotion challengers will be hopeful of signing him for cheaper in the upcoming window. Cullam O’Hare went one hundred and sixty-eight days without playing for Coventry City but returned to action in a substitute against Stoke City on the 22nd October 2022.

The 24-year-old has now accrued four starts amid seven Championship appearances this season, registering two assists. The former Aston Villa youngster, Cullum O’Hare had an outstanding campaign for the Sky Blues last season scoring five goals and eight assists. The attacking midfielder is out of contract in the summer of 2024 after signing an extension to his deal in January 2022.

Coventry City sit 11th in the Sky Bet Championship after playing the majority of this term without the output of O’Hare. Meanwhile, Burnley are on course for an instant return to the Premier League as they sit three points clear at the top of the Sky Bet Championship after just twenty-one matches.
