Jez Davies Signs Clarets Professional Contract After Short Trial
Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signing of versatile midfielder Jez Davies, who signs his first professional contract at the Club running until the end of the 2022/23 season following a successful trial period. The London born, teenager featured for both the youth team & U23’s at his previous club Tottenham Hotspur.
Davies netted a brace off the bench in a 13-minute cameo against Ipswich Town in the FA Youth Cup last season. He also came off the bench for Spurs’ U23s in Premier League 2 action against Leeds United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to grab a late equaliser.
Having been highlighted to the club via its official partner AiSCOUT, the teenager has been with Burnley for the last few weeks, appearing as a trialist in the U21s 3-1 Premier League Cup victory at home against Stoke City.
Having now put pen to paper on his contract with the Clarets, Jez Davies said, “I’m really happy to have officially joined the Club. I can’t wait to get to work with such experienced coaches and the great players around me. I know how good they are all going to be for me having spent a few weeks here already. I’m just looking forward to the challenges that are coming and I know this club is the right one for me to take the next step in my career.”
The Clarets U21’s are next set to be in action on Monday 9th January 2023 against Sheffield Wednesday in Professional Development League action (2pm KO).
