Clarets Confirm Signing of Belgian Defender Ameen Al-Dakhill
Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Ameen Al-Dakhil from Sint-Truidense on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The twenty year old who will wear the number 28 shirt at Turf Moor, began his playing career in Belgium, rising through the academy ranks at Tienen and Anderlecht before joining Standard Liege in 2017.

Al-Dakhil then made the switch to Sint-Truiden in January 2022 and after 12 months with De Kanaries, the youngster becomes Vincent Kompany’s first signing of the winter transfer window. The Iraq-born centre-back moved to Belgium aged five and has represented the ‘Red Devils’ from U17-U21 level.
After joining the Clarets, Al-Dakhil said: “I’m really excited to be here, it’s a really nice club, everyone I have met so far have been great with me. It’s a great club to be at and to make the next steps in my career and improve and learn as a player here. It’s been a really busy week for me, I haven’t slept much at all, but it’s all worth it now I’m finally here and a Burnley player.”
