Vincent Kompany Set to Sign Anderlecht Winger Enock Agyei
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany looks set to raid Anderlecht again with Enock Agyei on his way to the Sky Bet Championship leaders from the Belgian giants, according to reports from Het Laaste News. The Clarets boss tried to sign the winger in the summer transfer window when he arrived at Turf Moor from Anderlecht but was unsuccessful.
The eighteen year old is perhaps unlikely to make an immediate impact, however the teenager may be one for the future rather than someone capable of commanding a starting berth under Kompany immediately. Agyei currently plays for Anderlecht’s reserve team in the Belgian second tier and has four goals and one assist from seventeen games this season, lining up usually on the right wing.
Het Nieuwsblad, say that Agyei turned the Clarets offer down in the summer in favour of staying at Anderlecht, however he looks set to renege on that decision on the final day of the January window, with Het Nieuwsblad now reporting that Agyei is ‘on his way’ to Turf Moor. The youngsters contract is due to expire in the summer and it looks likely that he will be joining Ameen Al Dakhil, Hjalmar Ekdal, Lyle Foster, Michael Obafemi and Deji Sotona at Turf Moor with the club also interested in Sporting Lisbon’s Jovane Carral and Konyaspor’s Amir Hadziahmetovic.
