Ian Maatsen Set For Premier League Season At Turf Moor
Burnley Football Club want to bring Ian Maatsen back to Turf Moor next season as the Clarets draw up plans for their Premier League return. Vincent Kopmany’s side are out on their own at the top of the Championship and bosses at the club are already mapping out their summer ahead of an instant return to the top flight.
Left-back Maatsen, who joined on loan from Chelsea at the start of the campaign, has been key to their superb season with four goals and five assists so far. Such has been his form that Kompany is desperate to bring the twenty year old back to the club for next season, with the club already starting talks with his parent club.
The Dutchman will have one year left on his Blues deal in the summer, But with Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella both ahead of him at Stamford Bridge, the club are expected to be open to another loan move that will likely involve him signing a new deal in west London before heading back out on loan. Burnley are expected to give Kompany plenty of backing following his flying start to life as a manager in English football.
Nathan Tella, on loan from Southampton has been another star performer with twelve goals and two assists in thirty Sky Bet Championship appearances. Kompany is yet to decide whether or not to make a move and bring him back to Turf Moor for the Premier League season. The Clarets are also set to make Jordan Beyer’s move to Burnley a permeant one when the clubs Premier League return is confirmed.
