Kirkgate Market Hosts Urban Conceptz
Leeds City Centre last night held the 11th annual “Light Night Event” which features 10 zones across the City, hosting around 60 different free activities open to the public. The Briggate Zone featured a number of key buildings in the City Centre including Trinity, Corn Exchange and Leeds Kirkgate Market.
The artists, who could be professionals, students, graduates or emerging new telent had a creative brief to use light in art & culture, light in science & technology, light in life, light in nature, and light sources of the world.
Leeds Kirkgate Market and Interserve worked alongside Urban Conceptz to create a theatre production, using movement, light and manipulation to take a creative look inside the mind of a unique individual as he journeys through his thoughts, memories and troubled past.
The performances took place within the 1904 victorian hall inside Leeds Kirkgate Market, Urban Conceptz performed their fifteen minute show’s on eight occasions in front of an audience of around 40 to 50 people per show.
