Preston North End Chasing Former Claret Josh Ginnelly
Preston North End are closing in on the signing of Walsall attacker Josh Ginnelly, who was released by Lancashire rivals Burnley Football club at the end of last season having not made a first team appearance for the Premier League club.
The skilful winger joined the Clarets from Shrewsbury Town and whilst at Turf Moor he spent time out on loan at Altrincham, Walsall, Lincoln City, Fleetwood Town, Tranmere Rovers before joining Walsall full-time in 2018. Ginnelly has impressed at Walsall since joining the club in the summer and his performances have not gone unnoticed higher up the football ladder.
He has scored four goals in all competitions so far this season, including a stunning strike in the draw with Sunderland last month. Ginnelly, is out of contract at Walsall at the end of the season and Preston North End are hoping to land the player for a cut-price fee in January with Walsall likely to cash in on him rather than risk allowing him to run down his contract. Preston manager Alex Neil is keen to bolster his attacking options in the transfer window after losing Callum Robinson to long-term injury last month and Ginnelly’s versatility makes him an attractive proposition.
