Rory McArdle Joins Scunthorpe United on a Free Transfer
Bradford City have this afternoon confirmed that Rory McArdle has signed a three year contract with Sky Bet League Scunthorpe United following the expiry of his contract here at the Northern Commercials Stadium.
McArdle arrived at Valley Parade in June 2012 after leaving Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen. The Sheffield-born Northern Ireland international defender went on to make 231 appearances for the Bantams and scored 15 goals, including some memorable goals against Aston Villa, Northampton Town and Fleetwood Town.
Part of the ‘History Makers’ team from the unforgettable 2012/13 campaign, he featured in three Wembley fixtures for Bradford City against Swansea City, Northampton Town and Millwall, which included a League Cup Final and two Play-Off Finals.
The likeable Yorkshireman he has very much played his part in helping a team that had just scraped League Two survival become an established and progressive team in Sky Bet League One.
