Gainsborough Trinity Football Club have today confirmed the signing of two former Guiseley AFC players, with goalkeeper Joseph Green and midfielder Kingsley James joining the Holy Blues.
Joe Green ended last season on loan at Gainsborough Trinity and the six foot five inch goalkeeper finished the season in fantastic form. Green kept five clean sheets in eight games at the end of last season, as Gainsborough just missed out on a Play-Off spot.
Joint managers Liam King and Ross Hannah where thrilled to complete the signing of the commanding goalkeeper, after a number of clubs from higher divisions registered their interest in the shot stopper. However Trinity now have their man signed up until 2020.
Speaking about signing for Gainsborough Joseph Green said, “I really enjoyed my time at the club last season and they made me feel very welcome. I had a couple of other offers from teams in higher divisions but its a massive year for me and I wanted to be at a club where I can play and enjoy my football whilst trying to get promoted.”
Former England C International, Kingsley James has joined Gainsborough Trinity after being released by Guiseley AFC last week. Having played more than 300 appearances in midfield he has a massive amount of experience at all levels of the game.
Speaking about signing for Gainsborough Kingsley James said, “I’am really pleased to be joining the club and I cannot wait to get started. I love playing football in a professional environment and the club certainly is that feel, in terms of the season I hope to bring as many goals as possible from midfield and lead by example as we look to gain promotion.
