McNeil – Must Continue Career Development At Turf Moor

Dwight McNeil’s Father Advises Son to Remain At Burnley

Dwight McNeil’s father has told him to snub interest from the top clubs and continue his development at Burnley Football Club for now. The England U21 has been linked with a return to Manchester United as well as Leicester City and Crystal Palace.

McNeil, has become a key man in Sean Dyche’s Burnley team and is close to 50 Premier League games already. His dad thinks he should ignore the noise about clubs watching him and stay in East Lancashire for the time being. The Clarets are currently looking at another top ten finish and depending on results could finish in a Europa League spot.

Manchester United will be hoping to lure top talent to Old Trafford this summer, however they will need to earn a Champions League place when the Premier League restarts. In the meantime Manchester City are expected to start next season with a two-year ban from all European football, which gives their rivals a chance of attract more quality players.

McNeil Snr said, “Dwight is doing really well, It would be best for him to stay put at the moment and go that way. That’s instead of him going to a top team and just sitting there and getting drip fed into it. He’s got to keep working hard and listening to his manager and coaches. I believe with improvement he can be good enough for the top teams.”
