Bradford City Sign Sattelmaier
Bradford City have this morning confirmed the signing of German goalkeeper Rouven Sattelmaier on a one year contract. The twenty eight year old signed after a recent trial with the and he becomes Stuart McCall’s sixth signing of the summer.
Born in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, Sattelmaier will now join fellow summer recruit Colin Doyle and Joe Cracknell to fight for the number one goalkeeping position at Bradford City.
As a young goalkeeper, he spent time with SGV Freiburg and VFB Stuttgart at academy level before beginning his senior career with SSV Jahn Regensburg II in 2006, going on to play for the club’s first team on numerous occasions.
Sattelmaier’s impressive form with Regensburg earned him a move to german giants Bayern Munich in 2010, although he never featured for the first team he did appear for Munich’s reserve side and he was included in first team squads as third choice keeper.
Following the expiration of his contract with Bayern Munich he had a trial at Rangers before signing for FC Heidenheim in 2013, he joins the Bantams after spending last season with the Stuttgarter Kickers.
